KIPP DC: College Preparatory High School
Douglas Campus – Ward 8, Washington, DC
In May 2009, the TDF Foundation launched the KIPP Computer Lab at the Douglass Campus in Ward 8, providing students with state-of-the-art computers along with advanced software and computer resources.
In August 2009, KIPP DC: College Preparatory High School, the first KIPP high school in Washington, DC, opened at the Douglass Campus. Currently, the school serves the Discovery Pre-school, AIM Academy Middle School, KIPP alumni attending private and parochial high schools, and its own first freshmen class, which will soon expand to include 10th–12th grade students. During the school day, structured and special education classes are held in the computer lab. After school, KIPP students and alumni use the lab for homework and research.
The TDF Foundation Grant is providing the technology and tools for students at the KIPP Douglass Campus to develop their potential and stay connected and competitive with their peers.
